Mediamatic - R.I.P. exhibition

A photographer went to Harlem, NYC, and photographed the dead people in their coffins. Yesterday was the opening of this exhibition in Medimatic in Vijzelstraat!

- Death people in their coffins -

- Mediamatic was founded by Willem Velthoven (man with the microphone and Jans Possel (lady in white with photo-camera)) -

- You could also go to Heaven with the roller stairs. Once in 'Heaven', there was a small exhibition of coffins made in Ghana, Africa -

- Nike shoe coffin! -

- Oh my GOD. It's Mudboy and he creates the most dreamy music I've ever heard. If you're either drunk or 'high on crack', I think he can put you in a trance with his music and kidnap you to his hometown Portland, Rhode Island.-

- Party 'till 1am. -

More pics will be uploaded to my personal website

Wow, this post is really original and a tad morbid. The Nike coffin is my favorite, with Coke coffin runner up (go to KillerCoke.org).
Doesn't Mudboy look like the light is coming from his eyes?

What kind of coffin would you take ?
A customized one ?
Like to know....
The pictures of the dead people was something they used to do in the beginning of the 20th century...to keep the memory alive ...
Now, it's just a bit creepy to us...I guess you just wanna remember your loved ones as they were...

Nice blog-post Daniel, enjoyed reading it !

I'm just going to pretend those people are sleeping.. yikes. I thought watching a whole season of Six Feet Under will get me used to seeing 'dead' people, i guess not. I had to scroll down really fast!
