Seattle

There's something about this city, which has been calling my name for a very long time.

And I feel like we have a connection. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that both in this city and in my city, it's raining 9 months a year. Very wet. Yuck. BUT, during rainy periods, you can make very beautiful pictures...haha. Right? Yes.

Golden oldie.

So, could rain be the (only) connection-element between me and Seattle? No I don't think so.

For years, Seattle's nickname was Queen City until my year of birth. How odd. And then it changed to 'Emerald City'. Emerald City is the fictional capital city of the Land of Oz in L. Frank Baum's Oz books, first described in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This movie was released in the states for the first time in...my birthyear.

So, there is indeed a connection between me and Seattle since the day I was born.

Hmmmm......

Sleepless in Seattle happens to be my favorite romance movie (ever). Also, I LOVED, LOVED...and still LOVE Frasier (I still watch the reruns at night on television). Best tune ever if you ask me. I also LOVE Grey's Anatomy. Yes I do! All are Seattle-based television shows.
When I was young and very much into Basketball, my favorite NBA-star was Shawn 'The Reign Man' Kemp. Power forward of the Seattle Supersonics. :) We both wore number 40. This could be no coincidence...or perhaps it just was.

I know for sure something is going to happen to me, once I set foot in Seattle.

Another Seattle coincidence I read about, earlier this week...a man woke up in Seattle's 'Discovery Park', with no memories and not knowing how the hell he end up there.

Some cool facts about Seattle.

And the signs don't stop(!): I went searching for Seattle pictures for this blogpost, and the first pictured I really liked was taken by a guy named Daniel...-SIGH-

Ohmigosh! I love the fact that you posted this. I've always felt a connection to Seattle. There's such a haunting elegance about it brought on by the constant gloom. :)

Haha, my mom is spending the day in Seattle today; it's the first time she has ever been there. I've always wanted to go, too. It's just a place I'm very curious about, but my urge to see it is not nearly as strong as yours, though I do feel that way about other cities in the world... I always say that they're 'calling' me... I used to feel that way about New York, and some other cities are St Petersburg, Buenos Aires, Istanbul and Jerusalem, and the whole Andalusia region in Spain. I have no idea why, but I just feel that I must go and that something very special will happen once I'm there.

I think the love of your life is in Seattle waiting for you, and that's why there are all these signs pushing for you to go hehe. That would be very cool :P

You are a man obsessed. You'd better go while you can still afford the ticket.

Thanks for the comment today. : )

Well, my next long 'vacation' will definitely be Seattle. The tickets are extremely expensive. Almost as expensive as going to Australia.

Perhaps the signs are pushing me to...Australia because of the pricey tickets. :P

Re: That's what I figured out too; manual is the way to go :)

I use a Canon EOS 450D, with a standard lens, for now. I'm going to invest in a sigma as soon as I can afford it :D

Thank you for commenting my blog!

When I think of Seattle the only thing that comes to my mind is Sleepless in Seattle.
But about taking photos while its raining. Its one of my favoutites even though im suck a "sun-person". One of my personal favourites among all of my own photos is one that I took this spring. Sitting in a car somewhere along the coast of Guadeloupe and looking out of the window. Suddenly I saw this beautyful gate to a house through all the rain that just kept on falling and I snapped a photo vene though I was kinda sure it would turn out bad. When I came back tp Sweden i realized that it wasnt at all one of my best photos when it comes to quality. But the colours, the feeling it it. Oh. It makes me remember every second of that journey.
