Rooms of coziness

Ahhh...mmm...owwwwwwww yeah. Rrrrrrr.

These are the sounds of coziness.

Now, the following are images of coziness. And I know that some of you may not agree with me, but I bet that those ones secretly would love to have a room like this where they can be on their own or with friends, and just hide from the real world for a moment:

* Room of the beautiful actress Isabelle Mcnally Taken by Todd Selby

I am in search of inspirations for the decoration of my own room. You see, I don't have a lot of stuff laying around; got huge piles of magazines and books still stored in boxes, two separate beds put together, a desk, a couch...and uhm, that's it actually. Oh yeah, a linen closet with my cloths.

* Isabelle Mcnally

* Film director and fashion designer Alexander Olch

* Ingrid Sophie Schram

I'm thinking of keeping my room a bit messy. Just for the coziness. But not too messy though; I'm going to get me a new closet really soon!

My room, 2 months ago, with my sister's stuff (problems with her floor...all solved now!)

* Artist, writer, film director Aaron Rose

* Obedient Sons & Daughters

In the end, all of our rooms will be tidy unless there will be a kid playing around and making the whole place a big mess again. I like georganiseerde rotzooi (organised mess).

The following pics are taken from the Apartamento Magazine.

I'm sure you've heard of Theselby website. But check out Apartamento Magazine! Next issue will be out on the 28th of this month!

So tell me, are you a tidy person or a messy one? Or...are you a tidy person with a messy house / room? Or a messy person with a tidy house / room?

Having a messy room classifies the person being very creative. :)

Oh Oh. Although I like the pictures. To me it just looks like a mess. :D

I like my room clean and tidy. Well organised and easy to navigate. Not that my room is never messy, but if I have the time I tidy it up - just because it gives me a zen state of mind and I really get inspired to get down and work on my projects.

People are different I guess. :D

I like your room with your sister's stuff in it, very cozy looking.
I've heard of organized mess, the phrase translated and also a series of photographs by I can't remember who. But if you scroll down drollgirl's site, she did a post on it about 1-2months ago.
The idea of literature and clothing really appeals to me.

Those rooms are a hot mess! Love that creative minds dont need to shut every drawer and hide their files/works/art.

Ooo I love it! I have a very messy room almost always. I try to clean but eventually it's a mess again. Ironically I do know where everything is. hehe.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to how I dress and my hair, but I don't mind a slightly messy room. It has to be clean (no dirt or germs) but I don't mind a bit of mess. My desk on the other hand is a total mess.

They say people with clean desks are less creative then people with messy desks. Having a messy desk sparks inspiration.

Love the photos! Makes me feel a little better about my room and all the nick nacks sprawled across the floor. Art is everywhere ;)

I don't like it when my tiny studio gets messy (which happens quite often), so I immediately need to clean everything up, I need order to relax, to concentrate, and to feel better... I do feel more inspired when my environment is more in sync with the ideal I have in my mind, which is for the most part clutter-free :)

ps - I love The Selby!!!

Yeah, I just love it though I usually like it more plane. But just as you said, I like to think och spending a few days in that cosy mess and just enjoy it for a while.

i'm a pretty tidy person, at least when i have friend's over. but my flat is not sleek, it reminds me about ingrid's place. my livingroom is decorated with books!

I see where you are going with this inspiration. a cross between shabby chic and french artist/writer with understated worldly fashion decor. There is a certain amount of romantic feel to some of these images particularly the yellow tinted ones. I'd go with that. Certainly is a lot cheaper than doing your apt "Casa Armani"

Daniel, I love the pictures you selected. I must say, I tend to be a tidy person but with a really entropic personality. I love the look of my room when it is clean but give me two days and it will be a cluttered mess with books out of order, clothes on the floor and on the bed, makeup and my cameras on the dresser. Ah. So I guess you can say I am a clean-messy person. haha

I think there is a kind of saying that goes something like this: "so, if a messy desk mean a messy brain, what does an empty desk mean?!"

Daniel, Wat een ontzettend leuke post! I love it. Ik houd wel van een gezellig rommeltje, een georganiseerd (offcourse) zooitje that is:)
